post 2/18/2008 by Board President........'ANNUAL MESSAGE FROM PRESIDENT'
~~~~FROM THE PRESIDENT~~~~
Many good things have happened in Marcus Pointe this past year and tremendous effort went into bringing it about.  Let me share some of them with you:
February 2007             Marcus Pointe published it’s own web site
March 2007                Retention Ponds were turned over to the County
June 2007                    The new Marcus Pointe Entrance sign was installed
July 2007                    Landscaping and irrigation completed at the entrance sign
December 2007          150 trees planted in Marcus Pointe by the Tree Brigade
January 2008                Removal of the Guard House.
What a great subdivision we have and to the many homeowners that has made it one of the best in Pensacola. They should be recognized for their good deeds.  They are:
Mr. Michael Stokes who lives on Downing Drive is an early morning fixture along Marcus Pointe Blvd either running or picking up trash all the way to W Street.  Honk your horn at Mike when leaving Marcus Pointe in the morning as a way to say Thank You.  I hate to think what our subdivision would look like without him.
Marilyn and Jeff Peyronin who planted all the beautiful pansies in front of the entrance sign and encouraged more blooming by pinching back the dead growth.  Many of the homeowner’s do not know that Jeff Peyronin took it upon him self to contact the county and have the new signs  placed at the red light to let  individuals know that it was a Residential Area with No Exit.
A heartfelt thank you goes to Glenda Jones and Marilyn Peyronin for all their tireless work that they put into the landscape design for our entrance sign.  You could not ask for anything more attractive than their choice of plants.  The palm trees were a good selection and placed at the right place.
And how about Mr. Rod Taylor on Faison Street who wanted to know if the Board would reimburse him for hundreds of trees to replace all the trees along Marcus Pointe Blvd that were lost during the hurricane or were removed because of disease.  With just $600.00 for the project Mr. Taylor organized the Tree Brigade and they went about Marcus Pointe and planted trees and have kept them watered and fertilized.  Mr. Taylor can be seen   carrying buckets of water to the newly planted trees not covered by our sprinkler system and supported the young sapling with a stick until they can stand on their own.
The people mentioned are only a few homeowners’ that wanted to do things to enhance this beautiful sub division.  If any homeowner has ideas on how to improve our subdivision please give any of the Board members a call and tell us what it is.  We work for you the homeowner and are here to listen to you.  Do you have a homeowner that you would like us to recognize please call me and tell me and why.
Carol Wilson, President 857-1181
